Lake St. Clair Regional

Lake St. Clair Regional

Tuesday, September 25, 2018

Lake St. Clair has been producing giant bags of smallmouth all year long and our Lake St. Clair Regional was no different. The top three teams all had over 20-pounds and there were several hefty fish weighed in vying for the big bass award.

Taking first was Ron Fabiszak and Jason Fowler who weighed 23.90lbs and had a 5.80lb big bass that tied for that award. They won the guaranteed first place prize of $1,000 for winning the event.

They reported catching around ten keepers all day and that was part of their strategy. They focused on likely areas for big fish instead of just going for numbers. "We caught them quickly in the morning and then it was pretty slow until around 1:00. We made a few culls then and that is when the big one bit," said Fowler.

They used standard smallmouth techniques of dragging tubes and fishing a drop-shot with a Nemesis Baits Goby.
