Lake Chickamauga

Lake Chickamauga

Thursday, October 04, 2018

When we announced that Lake Chickamauga would host Championship Week in 2020 many anglers expressed their excitement. The lake is known for giant bass and should prove to be a fun venue for all of our championship events.

Chickamauga was recently ranked #2 by Bassmaster. Here is what wrcbtv.com said about the new ranking.

Tennessee’s Chickamauga Lake, which takes the No. 2 slot this year, made a strong argument for No. 1, as it also produced 40-plus-pound limits this spring. Yes, that was plural — two five-fish limits exceeding 42 pounds were landed this year. Although this 36,240-acre fishery hasn’t produced quite as many big fish as Rayburn, there were two bass over 10 pounds recorded here since February, the biggest weighing 11.21 pounds.

Here is more from our original announcement on the changes that start in 2020:

  1. Starting with the 2020 Championship Week on Lake Chickamauga, the lake will be off-limits for a one-month period from March 15th to April 15th, 2020.
  2. There will be no USA BASSIN divisions on Lake Chickamauga to provide a level playing field for traveling anglers
  3. All Licensed guides on Lake Chickamauga will not be eligible to compete in the Championship Week Events.
  4. Starting from the 2020 Championship Week Events, (past wins don’t count) if an angler wins the same Classic event, (Lucas Oil Tournament Of Champions, Ranger Aluminum Cup, Ranger Classic, Co-Ed Classic or the Next Generation Classic) three times during a ten year period the angler will not be eligible to compete in that Classic Event until the angler has less than three wins in a ten year period, after which the angler will be reinstated and allowed to fish that classic event again. This applies to individuals and winning with multiple team partners does not change this eligibility.
