Next Generation Classic

Next Generation Classic

Tuesday, July 02, 2019

The Next Generation Classic is an annual event with a top prize of a $5,000 general scholarship. The tournament was held on Barkely Lake and the tournament was presented by Prizer Point Marina & Resort and GoCadiz.com. We want to give those two special thanks for making this event possible.

This year, we had 25 teams vying for the win. The team of Rick Cheatham and Trey Mckinney took the win with a two-day total of 34.90lbs. They started off the event with a limit for 19.66lbs on day one. This included the biggest bass of the day, a 5.28lb fish. On the second day, they brought in 15.24lbs and their two-day weight was enough to outdistance TJ Todd and Dorian Duncan by over two pounds.

How it works: All Next Generation teams finished the 2018 season with 150 or more points and were eligible to participate in the Next Generation Classic.

USA BASSIN: The Next Generation is a non-for–profit public charity, devoted to providing educational opportunities that help young people prepare for a brighter future in the form of scholarships.
