Bass Pro Shops Next Generation weekend

Bass Pro Shops Next Generation weekend at the Clarksville Indiana store was everything a young angler could wish for. Hundreds of young fisherman from across the tri-state area took advantage of the many events put on during the March 13th and 14th weekend. Pro fishermen were on hand to give advice to the future anglers of tomorrow. Indiana Department of Natural Resources was present to answer questions and the United States Coast Guard was on hand to provide information on boater safety. Bass Pro Shops provided the atmosphere for the future stewards of our sport to enhance there knowledge and skills with workshops taking place throughout the weekend. 
 
USA Bassin' was on hand with representatives from the Lake Monroe Next Generation division.  Assistant director Aaron Steele is shown with Bass Pro Shops pro Eric Johnson together they provided hands-on advice to young anglers. The USA Bassin’ Next Generation Adult/Youth fishing series is sponsored by Bass Pro Shops and has paved the way for young anglers to fish in a tournament setting with the ability to compete for scholarship money and prizes.  The Classic for the next generation will be held June 11&12, 2011 on Douglas Lake, TN. At Douglas Lake young fisherman that qualify will compete for a minimum of $5000
 
Next Generation tournaments for 2010 are to start soon.  Tournament director Mason Fleetwood and Assistant director Tim Robinson have there first tournament for the John Hay Lake division is March 28 at 7 am at the park ramp. Director Steve Hanson and Assistant Director Aaron Steele will host there first tournament on April 17 at the Cutrite launch ramp at 7 am.  The Ken-Bar next Generation Division directed by John Lancaster will be held on Kentucky and Barkley lakes will also begin on April 17 at the Kentucky lake Marina at 6am. The President of USA Bassin’ Kevin Yeary has announced that only one membership need be purchased to fish both regular and next generation divisions. So now you can fish two great series at one membership price.
 
The Next Generation tournament series is a not-for-profit public charity, devoted to providing educational opportunities that help young people prepare for a brighter future in the form of scholarships.
