Lake Monroe Next Generation

Lake Monroe Next Generation

Thursday, August 19, 2010

Hargis and Josh Smith has shown they can tame the sometimes rough Lake Monroe. Fishing the upper end of the lake Hargis and Smith have brought the biggest bag to the Next Generation division on Monroe thus far. With only one tournament left on August 21th  the two lead the division. Pictured above is the five fish that weighted 21 lbs. Josh had the honor of reporting he caught the biggest bass in the bag that weighted 5.54 and captured the big bass winnings.

Josh is a sophmore at Bedford North Lawerance High School. When Josh isn't ripping the lips off big bass he is playing football. Smith plays cornerback and wide reciever. Josh is excited about the chance to fish in the classic on Douglas Lake in June of 2011.

Dave is employed at General Motors in Beford Indiana. Dave says this is his first year fishing USA Bassin and the opportunities Bassin offers to youth will make the series grown each season. Hargis has been bass fishing for many years. His tournament experience goes back to the late 90's. Dave says he enjoys teaching his stepson Josh the things he has learned about tournament fishing.
