Uncle Sam Big Bass Winner

Uncle Sam Big Bass Winner

Monday, May 16, 2022

During Championship Week on Lake Chickamauga, Edwin Rios fished the first day of the Tournament of Champions and brought his fish to the scales. His four fish for 11.47lbs had him and teammate Jeremy Muir sitting in 18th place. That was a solid start to the event, but it turned into much more.

The Uncle Same Big Bass mystery weight for the month was 3.48lbs, which happened to be the weight of his big bass that day. He ended up winning $1,620 for that catch.

"I got a call saying I might have won it," he said. "I went and watched the video on Facebook and that was it, the exact weight of the fish I had. I caught a bigger one the second day, but that catch ended up paying for all of my expenses for the whole week and I was there Monday through Saturday."

Edwin caught his fish on a shaky head with a 3" Berkley Pit Boss. "We tried all kinds of stuff that week, but that was how we caught all of our fish," he added.

Rios said he was surprised that he won, but very pleased. "It was a nice surprise," he added.
