Latest News MO-2 division opener Table Rock![]() Friday, March 25, 2011 Under the direction of Wayne and Jilayne Bostron, 25 USA Bassin’ teams competed in the first MO-2 division tournament of 2011. The Bostron’s explained the day as starting off with a brisk chill filled morning with stained water that was between 48-55 degrees. The two went on to say how the clouds cleared later in the day to a bluebird sky making fishing conditions extremely difficult. Wayne and Jilayne also mentioned how the bass that day seemed to have a mind of their own and most fish was caught in the afternoon.
Grabbing the top spot for the day was Bud Brown and Kelly Epperly, the two positioned their boat over 50 feet of water on points in river arms throwing to the bank and worked plastic baits back to the boat. This method enabled the team to weight in a 9.10lb bag of bass to win. The team’s big fish for the day was 3.12 lbs; just 3 oz shy of big bass. Big bass for the day was from team Carnahan and Martin weighing in a 3.15 lb largemouth caught on crank bait in 7 to 8 feet of water on chunk rock banks. Second place honors went to Roger Allen and Mike Cooper the two managed to catch a limit of fish but fell short in total weight with an 8.10lb sack of fish. The two anglers worked jerk baits on main lake points in 12 feet of water and up to the banks for their catch that day. Using crank baits and jigs Dwight Gates and Jack Cloutier was also able to catch a limit within 2 miles of the launch site at Cape Fair Marina locking down third place. The total weight for Gates and Cloutier was just 7ounces short of second place with 8.03 lbs.
