Open Tournaments in West Virginia

Open Tournaments in West Virginia

Tuesday, March 29, 2011

Tim Whaples director for central WV divisions and his assistant Scott Settle have asked me to post an e-mail sent about two open tournaments to be held this year. The efforts put forth this year by so many to help build the scholarship fund of the Next Generation tournament series, is a true testament to the quality of members involved with Bassin’.  Our sponsors and Directors are second to none. Please encourage your fellow fisherman to participate in one of the many opens offered this year. Besides the proceeds going to a great cause anglers will be introduced to the finest group of anglers in the country. The following is from Tim Whaples :
My name is Tim Whaples Director for USA Bassins South and Central WV Divisions. I have been fishing with USA Bassin for almost 3 years. It is a great organization. It is an organization geared toward the weekend angler, with modest entry fees and the chance to fish with some great anglers. USA Bassin also offers the chance to fish a regional tournament with great prizes and good cash payouts and the chance to qualify to fish The Classic with multiple boats, cash and lots of other prizes to be awarded and given away.
My Assistant Director Scott Settle and I will be holding two open tournaments this season. Both of these tournaments will be to benefit the USA Bassin " Next Generation Tournament Trail". Whats that? Well the
Next Generation Tournament Trail is designed to provide educational opportunities to the youth. By offering adult/youth divisions and teams, our youth will not only learn fishing skills, but will also have a chance of being awarded scholarship money towards their future education. Our youth are the future of our sport. All proceeds will go toward benefiting the Next Generation Tournament Trail. Both tournaments will be 80% payback with 20% going to the Next Generation Tournament Trail.
I would like to take the time to thank our sponsor The Great Outdoors Marine. The Great Outdoors Marine is an award winning boat dealership. Located just South of Huntington WV, featuring Nitro and Tracker Boats, they are committed to providing great boats at great prices, and customer satisfaction is their #1 goal. On July 9th we will be holding the first open it will be on Summersvile Lake from the Battle Run Ramp from 7pm to 2am. At summer pool the lake is 2790 acres of pristine clear and plenty deep water. Access to Battle Run is from US Rt 19 to Rt 129 W.
On August 6th we will hold the second open tournament on Plum Orchard Lake from the Main Ramp at the Dam. The lake is 202 acres with 6.5 miles of shoreline. Plum Orchard offers great fishing with an average depth of 15 feet and several species of vegetation.

Best of wishes to all. Hope to see you on the water.
