Latest News Gibson County Kicking Out Giants Wednesday, April 19, 2023 Located in Western Tennessee, Gibson County Lake isn't a big lake at just 560 acres, but it pumps out giant bass.The lake has been stocked with Florida strain largemouth and features a slot limit designed to protect bass in the 18 to 24-inch range and the results have been fantastic. USA BASSIN offers a TN-04 Gibson County Lake Division (as well as a fall division on the lake) and the lake is kicking out big ones, including a 8.95-pound bass caught two tournaments ago and a 10.15lb fish this past weekend. That double-digit bass was caught by the father and son team of George and Jacob Bingam, with the elder George landing the lunker. Jacob said they weren't surprised by the big catch, except for the timing of the bite. "There's a lot of those big fish in there and some a lot bigger," he said. "We've caught multiple big ones there. Honestly, we were most surprised about when we caught it. We caught it in the last ten minutes of the day." The big bass fell for a Z-Man Jack Hammer ChatterBait, a bait known for catching big fish. Jacob credits the slot limit for making the lake so great. "Anything between the slot and you have to let them go and that's what makes it such a good lake," he said. Keep an eye on this little gem as there are sure to be many more monsters weighed in there in events.
