Rend Lake Regional

Rend Lake Regional

Friday, October 11, 2024

On September 19th, 108 anglers were chilling on the water, waiting for the USA Bassin, Rend Lake Regional to kick off. They were all eager for a shot at the coveted Bass Cat Classic. With only 33 spots up for grabs, the teams were definitely going all out, making the best moves they could on the water. But who was going to snag that #1 spot and the sweet $5,000 prize?

Looking at the rankings from 1st to 17th place, it was clear that Rend Lake kept things super competitive. Just one big catch could've flipped the script entirely, given there was only a 3.23-pound difference between those spots.

In the end, Jacob Louis and Tyler Vanzandt came out on top after 8 hours of fishing. They outshined the rest with a 5-fish haul weighing in at 13.56 pounds, the biggest one being 4.10 pounds. They narrowly beat out Brennon McCord and Lane O'Daniel, who weighed in at 12.69 pounds.

Dan Morehead and Doug Bates finished in the top 3 with their 5 fish totaling 12.62 pounds, just barely missing out on second place. As we said, it was a seriously tight race.

The biggest fish of the day was caught by Chuck Teegradin and Brian Story, who reeled in a hefty 5.80-pounder. That catch helped them secure a spot in the Bass Cat Classic and earn some extra cash.

Big congrats to all the qualifiers heading to the Bass Cat Classic and to Jacob Louis and Tyler Vanzandt for their awesome win!
