Lake Shafer Regional

Lake Shafer Regional

Thursday, November 13, 2025

the USA Bassin Lake Shafer Regional was wild! It was super cold and snowy, but unless you've been chilling in the tropics, you already know a huge cold front hiton tournament day. Still, Lake Shafer's got some sweet smallmouth bass hanging out in the Tippecanoe River impoundment. The big question was, would those smallies actually bite?

And the answer is, totally YES! Bud Smart and Dave Coffing totally crushed it, weighing in 16.30 lbs to snag the win. Their biggest fish was a solid 3.90 lbs, which really helped their bag.

Chapman/Manns actually caught the biggest bass of the whole tournament, a 4.85 lb smallmouth.

Here are the top 3 from Lake Shafer:
1st Bud Smart & Dave Coffing - 16.30 lbs.
2nd Kyle Kaser & John Gipson - 13.62 lbs.
3rd Kurtis Bowsher & Evan Kirkover - 13.18 lbs.

So, the Lake Shafer Regional wraps up the USA Bassin Regional season and locks in everyone who qualified for the 2026 USA Bassin Classic on Kentucky Lake. Big congrats to everyone who made it to the Classic, the MillerTech Tournament of Champions, and the USA Bassin Silver Cup events! Can't wait to see you all at championship week this spring.
