09/30/2012- 136 teams from across Kentucky and Indiana blasted off on the Rough River today for the Renegade / Prowler Regional. Fishing was described as tough overall and the field dealt with a fog delay and cloudy conditions throughout the day. 

The team of Bill Hurle and Bobby Dorton bested the large field in a close contest. Their winning bad weighed 11.96 pounds was enough to take the title. Bobby Dorton said “It was pretty tough but we got on a good crankbait bite really late in the day and that’s where we caught all of our fish.”

Marty Sisk and Jeremy Estes finished second with a total weight of 11.59 pounds. Estes said “we flipped and threw a spinnerbait all day and caught around seven or eight keepers. With these tough conditions, the key for us was adding Strike Force Fish Attractant to our soft plastics.”

Third Place was the team of Ronald Hazelwood and Bill Lavely who weighed in a limit weighing 11.24 pounds.

The big bass of the tournament was a 5.11 pound bass weighed in by Jesse Morris and Jerry Price.

The next season is coming up quickly with the first tournaments scheduled for October 14th. The Co-Ed division is already in progress but new teams are always welcome.
