John Federnok

Over a decade ago John Federnok was fishing other team tournament trails. John was longtime friends with Kevin Yeary and listened to Kevin’s ideas of starting a team tournament trail. Together the two agreed if Kevin was to form such a trail that John would be one of the first directors. In 2003 Kevin’s dream of a team tournament trail with family values came to life and just as promised John Federnok was the very first tournament director for USA BASSIN. Kevin was quick to point out those friends such as John and their encouragement to build a trail was his inspiration to move forward. John is no stranger to fishing. Federnok grew up in Osceola Indiana fishing many of the areas river, lake, and reservoirs.  When asked what was the most memorable tournament he had fished he recalled a tournament that he had won a new truck and boat. John said with minutes to go in the tournament he landed a solid three pounder to tip the scales for the win. Federnok went on to say he was protested for not wearing a life jacket but later cleared and declared the winner.  When asked what he liked most about USA BASSIN Federnok said the friendship he made and atmosphere they create.   John also won the very first USA BASSIN Classic held on Lake Monroe in September 2003. John is currently the director of the Michigan Regional. The Michigan Regional will be held on beautiful Muskegon Lake October 6th 2013. The tournament will launch from Fisherman’s Landing is located at Ottawa Avenue and Giddings Street on the east end of Muskegon Lake. USA BASSIN is now the largest team tournament trail in 2013 thanks to directors like John Federnok.  BASSIN directors do an outstanding job introducing USA BASSIN team tournaments to anglers across the nation.   If you don’t see a tournament in your area and would like to see one considers becoming a director for BASSIN.  Information of becoming a tournament director can be obtained by contacting Kevin Yeary at 812-276-8043 or e-mail at kyeary@usabassin.com.
