Latest News June: Tip Of The Month![]() Thursday, June 06, 2013 When most people flip a lure, they let the line go when it hits the water. If a fish hits the lure on the way down, the angler may never feel the strike. It's especially problematic in heavy cover, like matted grass--unless you know how to tighten your line before the lure drops. Here's what you can do-- cast right into the middle of the weed mat and let the lure drive a hole into the hollow part beneath. The real key is this: As soon as the lure hits the water, apply slight thumb pressure to the spool to control the drop of the lure. Don't just let it free fall to the bottom. Set it on the matt and then lower it with your thumb. That will give you the ability to feel even the slightest of strikes on the drop. Good Luck and have a Great day on the water!!
