U.S.A. Bassin Directors Classic

The first annual U.S.A. Bassin Directors Classic was held on Barkley and Kentucky Lakes on November 2nd. This was a new tournament format for the directors of the different regions throughout the nation and was created as a way to give back to the directors for all of their hard work ad Dedication.. "We had 15 boats this year and hope to grow it next year. Their tournament entry of $60.00 was used as pay back and for the tournament and helped pay for their meal. USA BASSIN guaranteed the $1000 first place prize. Starting the 2015 season $1 from each membership will be escrowed into the Director's Classic. All monies collected from membership will go to the top prize of the tournament. This could make the top prize for this tournament reach $5,000 or more," said Kevin Yeary owner of USA BASSIN.

Taking first place was Jason Gevedon, the director for Kentucky's Cave Run Lake Division. Gevedon was excited about the tournament and what was provided for the directors. "It was alot of fun, I really hope we can keep it going and make it even bigger next year," said Gevedon. He won the tournament with four fish for 13.88lbs. Even though they only brought in four fish, he reported that they caught 25-30 fish counting non-keepers. "We had a 5lber and then three solid fish. All of our fish came fishing shallow on crankbaits and chatterbaits, it was on and off all day long," said Gevedon.

2nd Place was Johnny Lancaster with a total of 13.33lbs.

Thanks to all of the Tournament Directors who fished as well as the others across the country for their hard work this year.
