Latest News April Tip Of The Month![]() Tuesday, April 01, 2014 In early spring, start fishing for bass in the northwest corner of the lake or reservior, where the water temperature is slightly warmer. Look for bass in shallow creek arms with wood and wood cover. Fish the first emerging weeds and grasses. Also fish deeper water 12 feet to 20 feet adjacent to pionts. When the water temperature nears 70 degrees, bass will seek out a shallow, protected area for spawning. The spawning area must have direct access to the sun's rays, so look for a place protected from rough water: a shallow cut along a bank, for example, or a large flat in the back of a cove.
