Team Doug Akin/Wayne Dial wins the Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Tournament Rewards on November 30, 2008. The team was fishing out of a 2008 Nitro Z9 that was purchased at R&W Marine in Elizabethtown, KY.

 

Do these names sound familiar to you? They should. This team now has back to back first place finishes in the month of November and on different lakes!

 

Team Akin/Dial had a (5) fish limit total of 12.54lbs to win 1st place out of a 30 boat field at the

KY-1 Twin Lakes Fall division held on Rough River Lake.

 

The team’s fish were caught flipping small jigs and casting crankbaits.

 

“GOD blessed us with a good day of fishing! I also want to thank Wayne my partner for our win. I have to give Wayne a lot of credit. It defiantly was a team effort! We didn’t get in any fishing practice, so we didn’t have much of a clue what the fish were doing. We just fished. Our fish were caught scattered throughout the day, with our last fish being caught ten minutes before the end of the event. We learn something every time we go fishing. It might not pay off that day, but it will in the future!”

By fishing a U.S.A. Bassin tournament with 30 or more boats, out of Nitro boat and placing 1st in the event; the team is eligible for the BPS Tournament Rewards bonus of $650 cash/$100 Bass Pro Shops Reward Points.

 

“We had terrible weather for the event. I was surprised how many anglers showed up for the event. The director did an excellent job running the event. I know this trail will continue to grow!”

Here is a little about the BPS Tournament Rewards Program from their site:

 

First you must be a Tournament Rewards Fishing Team Member of no less than 14 days prior to the event fished ($89 membership with lots of perks). The team or member must fish a sanctioned event (U.S.A. Bassin is sanctioned) in a 30-59 boat field to receive part of the rewards or a 60+ boat field to receive the full amount of rewards. A member must be an owner of a Nitro, Tracker or Pro Craft eligible boat.
