Latest News Kansas State Regional![]() Wednesday, October 07, 2015 Wilson Lake out of the Hell Creek launch was the site of the 2015 Kansas State Regional and the fishing was excellent for numbers of fish. Both largemouth and smallmouth played a role in this event. First place was Craig Wolf and Sam T. Smith with five fish for 11.12lbs. They had both largemouth and smallmouth in their bag and caught their fish with swimbaits. "We didn't catch a lot of fish, but they were all keepers. We went to one bank and the shad were everywhere and that is where we ended up catching our fish," said Wolf. Second place was Rick Wheeler and Kip Pulliam with a limit worth 10.90lbs. "We caught tons of fish, but on this lake it is just so hard to win. Finding those bigger fish is hard to do and anything over 2.5lbs is a kicker here," said the team. They used a variety of topwater baits from Vixen walking baits to Pop-Rs to buzzbaits for their high finish. Third place was Shawn Thornton and Mike Nosekabel with five fish for 10.47lbs. Congrats to all of the top teams and thank you to all of the teams who competed in this event. Top 10 Finishers:
