Latest News C&O Marine Old Hickory Regional![]() Thursday, October 22, 2015 112 teams took to Old Hickory Lake in Tennessee for the Team C&O Marine Old Hickory Regional and a shot at the guaranteed first prize of $5,000. Several nice bags were brought to the scales and some big bass were weighed in. Taking first was Tim Staley and Tim Messer with a bag weighing 17.98lbs. They had two largemouth over five pounds and a smallmouth at around four pounds in their winning bag. "We got lucky and got some big ones. We had about 12 keepers all day long and really caught them throughout the day," said Staley. One of their biggest fish came within the last 45 minutes and sealed the win for the team. They caught their fish on green pumpkin jigs and noticed they started getting better fish when they moved to the 6-8ft depths as opposed to the shallower water they started with. When asked why they like fishing USA Bassin events, Staley said they have been fishing them since they started a division here and enjoy the chance to qualify for Championship week. "With this win, we get to fish the Lucas Oil Tournament of Champions and also get a chance to fish for the boat. We like competing with this trail because it is a great group of people," said Staley. Second place ws Clint Huntsman and Chad Walker with a limit worth 16.42lbs. They caught most of their keepers later in the day. "We only had six keepers and three or four short fish and caught them shallow by flippin," added Hunstman. Third place was Shawn Penn and Steve Freeman with 14.72lbs. "We only caught six keepers, but had a limit by around 11:00. All of our fish were in two feet or less and we caught some flippin' and some with a spinnerbait," said Penn. Congrats to all of the top finishers and thank you to all of the teams who fished this great event. Top 10 Results:
