IN-28 Division Shatters Biggest Bass in U.S.A. Bassin Division History

Sunday, April 26, 2009

West Boggs Lake broke the biggest bass in U.S.A. Bassin division history on April 18, 2009. During the IN-28 Boggs/Monroe Division tournament, Jason Wagner brought a Largemouth to the scales that weighed 8.96lbs.

This bass came just a week after the 8.51lb big bass that was caught in KY at Guist Creek on April 11, 2009.

Team Dunaway/Wagner (Dunaway not pictured. Wagner’s brother-in-law was a sub for the tournament) brought two fish to the scales for a total weight of 11.23lbs for 15th place and big bass of the event. It might not have been big enough to win the event, but catching the big bass for the event and to make history is always a good day on the water!

His fish was caught on a handmade crankbait called “The Money Bait” by Tim Hass. He was fishing rip rap banks 2-3’ deep, and the big bass was hooked around 12:30pm.

“This was my first year fishing tournaments thanks to Curtis Dunaway who got me into fishing! The fish hit very light, and I thought I was hung up at first until it took off. It was a very exciting moment for me hooking this fish!” -Jason Wagner

Congratulations Jason! Good luck fishing the rest of your season!
