Ingrams part of the backbone of BASSIN

Ingrams part of the backbone of BASSIN

Wednesday, August 05, 2009

Directors are the backbone of USA Bassin was the quote by USA Bassin president Kevin Yeary in a recent southern Indiana newspaper article. If that is the case Rick Ingram is truly a solid vertebra in the Indiana spinal column. Rick has been with USA Bassin since the beginning. Fishing the first year and working as a director there after. During the week Rick works as a maintence man for Greenwood Indiana school system. On the weekends he and his daughter Jennifer manage three divisions Monroe weekend, Monroe night and Brookville.

Rick Ingram is a director with a following and it shows from the number of anglers competing in Ricks tournaments said Gary Earl national tournament director. Gary went on to say he felt this was because Rick was such a nice guy with a love for Bass fishing. When I asked Rick about being a director his response was Jennifer does all the work but you see them work as a team. His daughter Jennifer is a big help and it is a joy to watch a father and daughter work together in the sport of bass fishing. I have seen Rick make every effort to make sure anglers had the answers to questions and assure a good safe tournament.

Each time we fish our local divisions we should all remember to thank our directors. Without all the efforts they make tournaments just would not happen. It is easy to pay your money, drop your boat in the water and wait on take off because of the efforts all our directors make.

Divisions are fishing the last of the tournament schedule across the country for the 2009 season. Regionals are around the corner and soon we will establish the field of teams for the Classic to be held once again at Kentucky Lake. The Classic this year will have the biggest pay-out in USA Bassin history. Anglers will be competing for cash and prizes totaling near $150,000. Three boats will be given away to the top three finishers and one by a drawing from the field of qualifiers. Detailed information can be found by clicking on Classic at www.usabassin.com.
