What is USA BASSIN: The Next Generation?

USA BASSIN www.USABassin.com the Next Generation is a not for profit public charity, devoted to providing educational opportunities to the youth. We want to give the youth an opportunity to brighten their future by giving them scholarships. This will give them another avenue or extra help to pay for college. The youth are the future of our sport!

How does it work?

This is an Adult/Youth Tournament Trail.

Adult/Youth teams pay a membership of $25.00 to compete in the trail. They can compete in both trails (Adult/Youth Next Generation, or Divisional Tournaments) if fishing the Division Tournaments the team will have to pay an adult membership if they wish to fish that trail as well.

Teams participating in the USA BASSIN: Next Generation Trail may fish any USA BASSIN tournament to gain points to fish the USA BASSIN: Next Generation Classic.

Any youth under the age of 18 by August 31, 2010 is eligible to participate in the USA BASSIN: Next Generation tournament trail and receive a free membership.

Teams that finish the season with 150 points or more are eligible to fish The Next Generation Classic, held on Patoka Lake, IN June of 2011.

How do we plan to fund The Next Generation? The amount of $7.50 from each entry into a tournament will be escrowed into the scholarship fund. The Next Generation will also receive funds from partnerships/sponsors and individuals. USA BASSIN will have a 50/50 drawing at all Regional and Classic tournaments.

How USA BASSIN plans to give out the scholarships: One scholarship will be given to the winner of The Next Generation Classic.  All teams that fished The Next Generation Classic, but didn’t win a scholarship may write an essay on bass fishing for the other scholarship. All scholarships will be put into a trust under the youth’s name until they commit to a school of their choice.

It is our hope that we can give away two scholarships each year. With the help of our members, partnerships, and kind individuals we can hopefully help our future anglers have a foot in the door to a brighter future!

Anyone who would like to help in this effort, whether it is through partnership/sponsorship or donation, please email info@usabassin.com or call Kevin Yeary, at 812-276-8043 for more information.
