Bajio NATO PERMIT TAIL Sunglasses

Aug 17, 2022
All lenses are polarized and include proprietary LAPIS technology that blocks blue light, making them the clearest lenses on the planet

Keep Bajío’s conservation mission top of mind in your one-of-a-kind Natos. These bold 8-base shades with stealthy black frames and wide, sunlight-blocking temples feature a unique Permit tail design by fly fishing artist Piper Nunn and support coral reef restoration in the Yucatán.

Part of the Limited Edition Temples of Change program, when you buy this pair of Natos, Bajío will plant one coral colony in Xcalak, Mexico to help combat coral bleaching and restore the Mesoamerican Reef through Oceanus, A.C. You pay the same price as our regular sunglasses and Bajío contributes $20 per pair—the cost it takes to plant and maintain one coral. Oceanus has planted 6,000 corals in Xcalak to date, each growing from approximately 3cm to 1m in just 7 years (which is extremely fast for coral growth). The positive impact is huge in a relatively short time. Join us in an effort to save the reef and the species that call it home with your Nato purchase.

"In Xcalak, we go right up to reef to catch Permit in their habitat,” says Bajio Founder & CEO Al Perkinson. “It’s only fitting that we don Permit tails on the very shades that benefit this area through coral reef restoration.”
