Wooten and Scott win at Smith Mountain Lake

The Conrad Brothers Marine Regional was held on September 7th out of Parkway Marina on Smith Mountain Lake.

Taking first with 19.15lbs was Thomas Wooten and Greg Scott, who also had a big bass of 4.32lbs. The team reported catching 20-25 keepers throughout the day and culled all day. "We had a pretty good day and probably had 18lbs by 10 or 10:30. After that we were culling by ounces," said Wooten. The team caught many of their fish on topwater baits and also switched to fishing docks with soft plastics later in the day.

Second place was Jason Adams and Zach Peasley with 15.74lbs. The team didn't catch many keepers, but they were good quality."We maybe caught seven keepers and at 12:00 we only had two keepers. We usually fish deep on this lake, around 30 feet, but that wasn't working so we switched midday," said Adams. They reported catching fish on topwaters, drop-shot and football heads. The key for them was switching to docks and points later in the day.

Third place was the father and son team of Craig and Jimmy Blankenship who weighed 13.91lbs. "We had an early limit and then started culling. We fished plastics and caught 13-14 keepers," added Craig Blankenship. They added it was a tougher than normal day for the lake.

Congrats to all of the top finishers at the Conrad Brother's Marine Regional. U.S.A. Bassin would like to thank all of the teams for fishing this event.
