Port Of Jasper Patoka Regional #2

Sep 23, 2014

For the second day in a row, the team of Kenneth and Kelly Ingle took home the top honors at Patoka Lake. They weighed even more than they did a day earlier to get the clean sweep for the weekend. Their 21.58 bag included a 6.50lb big bass and another one that was nearly identical in size. Using what they learned the day before, the team stuck with two baits all day. Kenneth threw the 3/4 spinnerbait all day and his dad fished a carolina rig all day.

Second Place was Chris Abrell and Andy Eaton who had a total of 20.58lbs. They also fished the previous day and used that experience to help them. "We caught six fish the day before but they were all short fish. We fished the same exact area the second day but the big fish were there," added Eaton. The change in weather was the key and the fact that they stayed on the area all day on Sunday, knowing that the bigger fish were there. 'We fished the area from shallow to deep and caught a total of seven keepers on plastics," added Eaton.

Third place was Charlie Hentrup and John Schroering who had a limit weighing 14.79lbs. The team fished shallow with plastics for their high finish. "We didn't catch alot of fish, six total and just five keepers. It was so windy that we ad to just try to find areas out of the wind so we could fish," added Hentrup.

Kris Effinger and Shelli Effinger also took home $1,000 for catching the Uncle Sam Bass that was awarded for any bass weighing 4.16lbs. You can learn more about the award here.

Congrats to the top finishers! U.S,A, Bassin would like to thank all of the teams for their participation this year.
