July 17, 2023

As summer rolls right along, we wanted to share what is happening with our sponsor, Brownie's Marine, in Fairland, IN.

As most folks know, the month of August brings the release of the upcoming year's new models of boats. Steve Hanson reports that the 2024 models are really starting to roll in.  Steve also says they have several great used boats on site, many with remaining factory warranty. They also carry a great line of pontoons if anyone wants to make Momma really happy!

Now is the time to take advantage of a great opportunity to pull that trigger on a new boat just in time for those all important fall regionals!

Chip & Lisa Ayers

***INFORMATION ON ROAD CLOSURE***

Indiana State Road 46 is CLOSED for construction approximately 5 miles east of Batesville. This closure is just west of Spades Road in Ripley County and is expected to last until mid July of 2023.

Teams traveling to Bischoff Reservoir from the east are encouraged to take I-74 EB to the 149 MM exit (Batesville, IN) and then travel east on State Road 46 to Morris to access the lake.

Indiana State Road 46 is also closed for a bridge repair just east of Greensburg, IN as well, very near the city limits, however local detours are easily navigated around this closure.

Teams are encouraged to take these detours into consideration when planning their travel time as well.

We will strive to keep everyone posted as these construction periods continues through the season.

April 21, 2023

Thirty-one teams took part in the second tournament of the 2023 Brownie's Marine Bischoff Reservoir Division. While that's a bunch of boats but most of our teams reported that they caught large numbers of bass in the twelve to thirteen and a half inch range. Many folks are anticipating that as those bass grow through this season, the number of keepers caught will increase significantly! Let's all keep our fingers crossed.

One thing for sure, Bischoff Reservoir still holds the bigger ones as several in that three to five pound range were brought to the scales. Chrome rattlebaits, vibrating jigs, and soft-plastic presentations seemed to be the big producers for the keeper bass.

Congratulations to Jason Booth for taking top honors and receiving the beautiful plaques from Brownie's Marine in Fairland, IN for his first place finish. Jason holds a good lead in the divisional points race and shows no sign of taking his foot off the gas!

Big bass of the event went to Dustin Burk and Kevin Lacey for their 5.22 lb lunker which anchored their second place finish.

A huge THANK YOU goes out to Brownie's Marine for sponsoring the awards for this season's tournaments! We'd also like to thank Lucas Oil and the Clarksville, IN Bass Pro Shop for providing the door prizes awarded during the weigh-in!

With thirty one boats, this tournament paid out six places!  Wow!!

Until next time, tight lines and...

March 28, 2023

Twenty-four teams took to the water for the first event of the 2023 Bischoff Reservoir Brownie's Marine Division IN-04 season. Between the almost four inches of rain in the previous 24 hours and wind gusts of almost 50 MPH during the tournament, anglers found the bass less than cooperative.

The team of Tyler Tabbert and Max Neat bested everyone to take home the beautiful plaques presented by the division's sponsor, Brownie's Marine in Fairland Indiana.  A huge thank you to Michael Massey and all the fine folks at Brownie's for all their support of USA Bassin anglers!

Our next tournament will be April 8, 2023. Make plans to join this great group of folks for the day!

Until then...

July 7, 2022

The last tournament of the 2022 Bischoff Reservoir Division-04 is coming up this Saturday, July 9th. Where has 2022 gone?!? This tournament will decide two very important things, the 2022 Division Points Champions as well as who will take home this month's trophies sponsored by Leroy McQueen, owner of L&W Roofing in Greensburg, IN. THANK YOU, Leroy! The points race remains tight and several teams are with in striking distance. Also, with the points that are available at this event, many teams will be able to secure the 250 points needed to qualify for the 2022 Regionals fast approaching this fall. Bischoff Reservoir is fishing better now than it has for some time with more keepers showing up at the scales. The weeds are in full growth, the deeper fish have locked onto the points, drop-offs, and roadbeds, and the topwater bite is strong. Not only that, this hot weather is forecast to make a change and the day looks to be shaping up to be beautiful. Don't miss out on this last tournament! We look forward to seeing everyone, Saturday!

God Bless,

Chip & Lisa Ayers

June 15, 2022

Congratulations to the winners of our fourth tournament of the 2022 USA Bassin Bischoff Reservoir Division season, Troy and Hunter Sullivan! The teams of Grigsby/McCormick, Tuley/Tuley, and Sieg/Beagle rounded out the top four teams for the day, with each earning a check for their efforts. Also "Big Fish" Jeff Litchfield used one of his company's, Litchfield Lures, baits to once again capture the big bass award for the tournament. Well done, everyone.

Many of our successful anglers reported their success came on a mixture of topwater and soft plastic presentations.

With one more event scheduled for the 2022 season, the divisional points race is still up for grabs. If you haven't secured your needed 250 points in order to be eligible to take part in the season's end USA Bassin Regional Championships, make plans to join us at our next tournament, July 9, 2022. There is still time to qualify!

Until next time,

God Bless,

Chip & Lisa Ayers

June 11, 2022

June 4, 2022

Our next USA Bassin Bischoff Reservoir Division IN-04 tournament will be June 11, 2022 and we expect to have another great event with a big turnout. With that being said, it is imperative that we address parking in the ramp area lot(s). In order to accomodate the number of teams which have been taking part in our division, we will ask that all of our members park in a manner so that the traffic flow in parking lot is not incumbered. Teams should park in a manner that eliminates large open spaces between vehicles. If we tighten up our parking positions, we will eliminate the congestion causing delays in loading at the end of the event.

We acknowledge that many of the traffic issues are caused by infrequent or even out-of-state visitors to the lake who do not comprehend the established parking pattern, however, if we as considerate anglers initiate a successful parking pattern, there is hope that others will follow our lead.

It has also been brought to our attention that some teams may not be prepping their boats for launch until they are at the ramp. We ask that teams have their boats ready to be launched prior to approaching the ramp.

Thank you for your understanding.

God Bless,

Chip & Lisa Ayers

May 14, 2022

The results are posted!

Congratulations to Team McQueen! Brothers Leroy and Dan McQueen worked to bring three Bischoff Reservoir bass to the scales totaling 6.95 lbs to take top honors once again at the third stop of the 2022 division season. Wayne Egbert and Chris Decker brought four keepers to the scales totaling 6.83 pounds to narrowly miss the win, while the teams of Sieg/Beagle, Buchannon/Schneider, and the Summerlots rounded out the top five.  Chuck Sieg's 4.22 lunker took the day's big bass award.

Nearly every team reported catching loads of bass in that 12-13 1/2 inch range, but, in true Bischoff style, those that captured multiple keepers rose to the top of the heap. Most of the twenty-five teams also reported catching a majority of their bass in less than a foot and a half of water.  Again a huge thank to to Hoyt Evans and his dad, Jon, and Hoyt's Facebook page, Hookin' Fish With Hoyt, for sponsoring this month's awards! We as a division are very blessed to have a great group of anglers who demonstrate their sportsmanship both on and off the water. In a time when other tournament trails contend with bickering and divisiveness within their group, it is not present with these fine people! Thank you to all our teams for that!

Until next time..

God Bless,

Chip & Lisa Ayers

May 9, 2022

With just 5 short days left until our third tournament of the 2022 Bischoff Reservoir IN-04 Division, make plans to join us for this fun and friendly event! This month's plaques look awesome and are sponsored by Hookin' Fish With Hoyt. For those who may not be aware, young Hoyt Evans and his dad, Jon, compete in many events throughout the Tri-State area and maintain a Facebook page, Hookin' Fish With Hoyt, documenting their adventures. Take a minute and check it out! With spring in full bloom, word is the fishing at Bischoff Reservoir is really picking up with more keepers being caught. Now, if we can just get all the anglers who fish Bischoff Reservoir to practice catch and release like our USA Bassin' members do, maybe this fishery can rebound from the last few lean seasons!

Hope to see everyone Saturday May 14th for our next tournament!

God Bless,

Chip & Lisa Ayers

April 20, 2022

Congratulations to Robert Summerlot for his win at our second Bischoff Reservoir IN-04 Division tournament on April 16th. While Robert only brought two bass to the scales, one of them was the right kind, a 5.79 lunker which turned out to be the big bass of the tournament. With his win, Robert took home all the beautiful trophies provided by this month's sponsor, Eli Buchanan , owner of American Roofing Monkeys. While the day brought anglers just about every type of poor condition to deal with, (rain, then dropping temperatures, and then high winds which led to blue bird skies) everyone was happy to see quite a few bass weighed in which were in that 14"-15" range. We even had a keeper smallmouth bass weighed in! Things may just be looking up for our lake!

Please follow our USA Bassin' anglers' lead and practice catch and release on all of Bischoff Reservoir's bass!

Until next time,

God Bless,

Chip & Lisa Ayers

April 16, 2022

The results from the second tournament of the 2022 Bischoff Reservoir Division IN-04 are posted. Congratulations to the team of Robert and Pam Summerlot for taking first place and big bass! Special thanks to Eli Buchanan and American Roofing Monkeys for sponsoring this month's trophies!

A detailed report will be posted soon.

Chip & Lisa Ayers

March 27, 2022

Congratulations to our winners from the first event of the 2022 season, The team of John Roth and Brandon Wolf only needed two bass to take top honors with the extremely tough conditions anglers faced for the day. But when one of those fish weighs 6.20 lbs., you don't need many! Second place was captured by Curtis Dunaway and Jason Benefiel with four keepers totaling 7.34 pounds while T.J. Findley and Tony Thompson rounded out the top three with a 4.71 catch.  Many of our teams reported that despite the constant snow showers and winds in excess of 25 MPH, the bite was very strong but, in traditional Bischoff style, keepers were hard to wrangle. Those anglers who were willing to share a bit of information stated that most used a one-two punch of crankbaits and jigs for a majority of their bites.  Thank you again to Ron at Swinney Lawnmower and Tractor Sales & Service for sponsoring the tournaments awards and to Jack Wicker for providing some of his custom tackle for our door prize packages!

Be Sure to check out this tournaments pictures in the photo section! Until next our next tournament on April 16th,

God Bless,

Lisa & Chip Ayers

March 26, 2022

March 25, 2022

For those who may have been wondering, we WILL be fishing the first event of the 2022 Bischoff Reservoir Division tomorrow (March 26th). We have made the necessary preparations to ensure the ramp will be usable despite any potential freezing conditions which we may encounter prior to take off. In addition, due to the cold temperatures, we will be making some other provisions available for everyone who takes part in Saturday's event.  Don't let the less than ideal conditions keep you at home on the couch! The big bass have been biting at Bischoff... Join us tomorrow and let's kick off another great season!

November 6, 2021

As the year comes to an end, we will once again begin looking toward dates for the 2022 USA Bassin' Bischoff Reservoir Division season.

As always, we will again do our best to avoid scheduling our events so that they avoid any overlap of other trails our anglers also take part in.

To do this, we would ask for your, our members, cooperation. Please text or email Chip Ayers with any trails/tournament(s) information which you may also be competing in, and as stated above we will promise to attempt to avoid any conflict as best as possible.

Thank you and have a wonderful holiday season.

August 29, 2021

Photos posted from our last event!

August 21, 2021

What a way to end a season!!! While many area fishermen had been lamenting the fishing at Bischoff Reservoir, the USA Bassin IN-04 Division anglers must not have been listening.

Bischoff Reservoir showed out the last regular season event of the 2021 USA Bassin IN-04 Division, with the winning bag totaling 18.55 lbs! This bag also contained the tournament's big bass, a 7.32 lb. giant by any fishery's standards. Congratulations to the tournament's winners, Rick Lewis and Adam Hullenmeyer, for doing what veteran tournament anglers do.. putting their heads down and catching big bass. Their limit bag included another bass over 6 pounds as well and they reported they culled several times through the day, enabling the team to take home the beautiful plaques sponsored by The Rusty Buck in Versailles, IN.

Second place was taken by Jeff Litchfield with two bass weighing 9.14 lbs. Both of Jeff's quality bass were caught on his own company's, Litchfield Lures, custom jig and trailer. A big thank you to Jeff for also sponsoring our tournament door prizes with some more his awesome line of soft plastic lures.

With this being the final event of the 2021 USA Bassin season, we also crowned our Bischoff Reservoir Division Points Champion. Congratulations to Jack Wicker and Linda Bridgeman! The pair proved that consistency will win every time as they were the only team to weigh in keeper fish at every event this year.

We would be remiss if we did not thank each and every one of our great teams for taking part in the Bischoff Reservoir Division! Plans are already in the works to make 2022 even bigger and better!

God Bless,

Chip & Lisa Ayers

August 4, 2021

With just one event remaining in the 2021 Bischoff Reservoir Division, the Divisional Championship is anything but over. While the team of Jack Wicker and Linda Bridgeman hold the lead, with as challenging as Bischoff Reservoir has been fishing, that lead could quickly change. More than one team are waiting in the wings for Jack and Linda to bobble. Will it happen or will Jack and Linda remain on top?... We will find out at our next tournament on August 21st!

Make plans now to join us for our next event.

God Bless,

Chip & Lisa Ayers

July 24, 2021

The results for the July 24th event are posted!!

July 18, 2021

While the rains have thrown many other divisions for a loop with unfishable waters, Bischoff Reservoir is setting up to fish really good for our upcoming tournament. Don't let the blown out conditions of other fisheries keep you home.

Between the grassbeds, now stained water, and deeper structure.. there's something that caters to every fisherman's strength.

Join us on July 24th for our next tournament!

God Bless,

Chip & Lisa Ayers

June 12, 2021

The results from the June 12th, 2021 tournament are posted!

June 7, 2021

Our next tournament will be this coming Saturday, June 12th!

Takeoff will be at 6:00 AM. Please have your boat launched and prepared for the pre-tournament meeting which will begin at 5:30 AM. Livewell check will be conducted at takeoff as we have done in the past.

Check-in will be at 2:00 PM. This means checked in, not idling toward the dock. Be sure the check-in official acknowledges you so that you are not deemed late.

A big thanks go out to Charlie Owens and all the great folks at The Rusty Buck in Versailles, IN for sponsoring this month's awards. Also a big thank you goes out to our own Jeff Litchfield for donating some awesome looking soft plastics from his company as a door prize!

We are looking forward to seeing everyone this week. The word is the grass is starting to top out!

Until Saturday, tight lines and..

05/15/2021

May 8th, 2021, saw 25 boats take to Bischoff Reservoir for the second tournament of the IN-04 Division season. Despite a May FROST WARNING issued for the early part of the day, our teams couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day of the water. The only issue was the effect the cold snap had on Bischoff Reservoir's bass. But Bischoff again produced what it is known best for.. BIG BASS. The winning team of Nick Lorum and Tyler Allen's bag included the day's big bass, a 4.59 lb. lunker! The second place team of Chuck Sieg and Paul Bruns brought a 4.26 lb. bass to secure their finish.

Most teams reported catching great numbers of fish, but the elusive keeper-size bass seemed to have the proverbial lock-jaw. A vast majority of our teams reported that sof plastics were responsible for the majority of their catches.

For their effort, winners Lorum and Allen not only took home a great payout but also the beautiful plaques sponsored by Ron Swinney at Swinney Tractor and Mower Sales and Service in Versailles, IN. Thanks, Ron!

Congratulations everyone!

Be sure to follow the Bischoff Reservoir USA Bassin IN-04 Facebook page for up to the minute information.

God Bless,

We would like for everyone to have their boats launched by 6:00 AM at which time we will hold our "on the water" pre-tournament meeting. As a reminder, no tournament entries will be taken once the meeting begins, SO DON'T BE LATE!!!

Big thanks to Ron Swinney, owner of Swinney Tractor and Mower Sales and Service in Versailles, IN for sponsoring this month's plaques. Some lucky team will take these awards home for winning as well as a big bass trophey.

See everyone, Saturday, May 8th!

Wow, what a rainy day for a tournament! The weatherman definitely missed the mark on the day's forecast as a slight chance of a stray shower turned into a steady rain which lasted the entire tournament. But the dreary weather didn't keep 26 teams from taking part in the first tournament of the 2021 USA Bassin Bischoff Reservoir Division season.  Based upon the turnout, five teams managed to earn a check at the day's event.

The brother team of Tim and Kyle Findley only brought two bass to the scales but when those two fish total 11.16 pounds and include the 6.39 lb. Big Bass of the day, it makes for a good day. Well done, gentlemen!

Second place was captured by Ron and Stacy Tuley with a 4.38 bass while third place went to Jack Wicker and Linda Bridgeman for their lone 2.67 keeper. The teams of Robert and Pat Summerlot  along with Wayne Egbert and Evan Fette rounded out our top five. Congratulations to all our winners!

A big thank you goes out to our own Elijah Buchanan, owner of Roofing Monkeys, LLC for sponsoring the beautiful trophies for this month's event.  Thank you Eli!

While the tough fishing that the anglers faced made for a challenging tournament, it also ensured that no team is out of the running for the divisional champions. We hope to see everyone again at our next tournament on May 8th!

Chip & Lisa Ayers

3. Please remember to utilize the appropriate social distancing techniques as the situation dictates.

4. DON'T BE LATE for the 6:30 AM on-the-water pretournament meeting. Rules and proceedures will be outlined for the day's event at that time.
