Turtle Creek Reservoir Regulations, Tournament Rules and Registration
***Please check this page prior to any Tournament. I will announce any changes or cancellations on here up until midnight the night before a scheduled tournament.***
*** To replace the 5/21 tournament that was cancelled due to weather, we will be doing a double points / double pot tournament on 7/16. This means that entry fees will be $120/boat ($60/person) instead of the regular $60. It will also be a double points tourney, meaning 1st place will receive 200 pts, etc. ***
Hello all,
USA Bassin Division will start on April 16th, weather permitting and Schedule permitting. Remember the Lake Fee has gone up to $5.00 per person and must be paid by credit card or debit card only. Last year was a fun year, and we learned a lot about the unique challenges of holding tournaments there. This year will be the same as last year, if no keepers are caught than we are going to roll over the payout to the next tournament. We can discuss again at the first tournament and change this if necessary.
USA Bassin has a 70% payout for the tournament, and a 100% payout for Big Bass. If no fish are caught in the first tournament then the payout will roll over to the next. Each consecutive tournament that is blanked will result in one additional payout spots (maximum of 3).
Examples:
1st tournament there are no fish caught, payout would roll over. If fish are caught normal payout.
2nd tournament has the following possibilities.
1. No fish are caught and the payout and Big Bass roll over to next tournament.
2. Fish are caught and first place would collect previous rolled over payout.
3rd tournament has the following possibilities.
1. No fish are caught and the payout and Big Bass would roll over again.
2. Fish are caught and First and Second place would take rolled over payouts (60% going to First and 40% to Second). Big Bass would collect all the rolled over payout.
3. Only one fish is caught. Winner would only take home 60% of the rolled over amount and the 40% would be rolled over. Winner would also take home 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and however many places there might be that day.
Payouts would continue to roll over until we had a tournament that paid out 3 spots.
If you have any questions please feel free to give me a call.

Please read following information below.
Turtle Creek Reservoir has a 20 inch minimum size and 1 fish limit. This rule must be followed during the IN-07 Tournaments. This is one fish per person, so a maximum of 2 fish per boat will be allowed, heeding the 20 inch size limit. One person cannot catch both of a team's fish. If a team brings in 2 fish, one must have been caught by each angler. This information is important as one person teams could be at somewhat of a disadvantage compared to two person teams.
Inclement Weather: Turtle Creek is a large lake, and even moderate breezes can cause decent sized waves. The reservoir has a warning system that can be heard anywhere on the lake should conditions be unsafe. In the event this happens, you are to get to shore as quickly as possible...do not try to get to the boat ramp if conditions are unsafe to do so, however, this is your judgement. This is the only time where motors bigger than a 9.9 can be used at higher than idle speeds to get to shore/boat ramp.
Motors: In good weather conditions, motors bigger than a 9.9 hp can be used, but only at idle speeds. Please strickly adhere to this idle policy. It is a privelage to use this lake for our tournaments, and our ability to do so could be taken away quickly should our members not follow this policy.
Gate at Day of Tournament: Please do not arrive to the reservoir prior to the 90 minutes before the tournament starts. The gates will not be open until then, and truck/trailers should not be lined up on the road outside of the gate...this poses a safety hazard. Do not show up earlier than 90 minutes before start.
