Ohio River White Oak Regional

Kevin Wells and Herb Parks win.

The Ohio River White Oak Regional was held out of the White Oak Creek Ramp on October 21st. 25 teams were vying for the guaranteed first place prize of $1,000 and the team of Kevin Wells and Herb Parks won with 12.52lbs.

The team reported a strong bite early in the day and they ended up catching eight keepers over the course of the day. With recent high water conditions, they relied on past history of the river to locate their winning fish. "It has been so high and fast that we targeted places where we have caught them in the past. It seemed like the fish were not right on the bank since the water has been dropping," said Wells.

The duo caught their fish on crankbaits and jigs in specific locations. "We had success where we found both current and baitfish," added Wells. The team would like to thank Freedom Outdoors for their support.
