The Ohio Division Regional tournament was held on 10/4/09 on the Rocky Fork Lake. The day was very cool and windy causing alot of anglers to change from their original game plans if they wanted to catch fish.
John Johnson, director of the tournament released the 88 teams to start the tournament at 7:30. As the tournament came to an end at 3:30; all except 15 teams weighed in fish totaling over 322 pounds of fished being weighed in. There was a total of 8 teams who took home winnings at the end of they day. Those teams were; the 8th place team of Kiley/Rand who brought in 8.24 lbs., 7th place team of Burns/Hart who brought in 8.47 lbs., 6th place team of Jackson/Shephard who brought in 8.79 lbs., 5th place team of Alibrando/Williamson who brought in 9.12 lbs., of which the Big Bass for the tournament was a part of weighing in at 5.55 lbs., 4th place team of Stephens/Ford who brought in 9.75 lbs., 3rd place team of Bunnell/Bunnell who brought in 10.28 lbs., 2nd place team of Miracle/Miracle who brought in 12.4 lbs., and 1st place went to the team of Harrison/Guffey who brought in a 5 fish bag weighing in at 13.7 lbs.
Congratulations to everyone listed above for a great day of fishing.
Lastly, thanks to everyone who fished the Ohio Regional. It was a great turn out with a whole lot of fish brought in.
Well see the top 40 teams at the Classic in May of 2010.

All teams that finish the season with 250 points or more in a division or in the Open Division shall be eligible to fish a U.S.A. BASSIN Regional Tournament of their choice and may fish in more than one Regional Tournament. There is a $125.00 entry fee (plus an optional $10.00 Big Bass Pot) for all U.S.A. BASSIN Regional Tournaments. All Regional qualified teams may pre-register by mail. If per-registering, entry forms must be post marked and mailed 10 days prior to the Regional Tournament you desire to fish. Entry fee may be refunded, only if the director is contacted by 12:00pm the day before registration. Failure to inform the Regional Tournament Director of a refund will result in a forfeit of entry fee. Send all entries to the Regional Tournament Director of the Regional Tournament you desire to fish. Entry fees will be accepted at registration. All teams that pre-registered will draw for tournament take off positions at registration. All Teams that paid an entry at registration will be given a takeoff position based on when the director receives their money. All entries paid at registration must be in cash. The Regional Registration and Pre-Tournament meeting is mandatory. One (1) member of each team must be present. Failure to attend a Regional Registration/Pre-Tournament meeting will result in disqualification. The director will not accept an entry at the ramp the day of the tournament.
2.U.S.A. BASSIN Nitro Classic Tournament
The top 30% (by total weight) of each Regional Tournament will receive a Nitro Classic Entry. Go to www.usabassin.com for more information on the Nitro Classic.
3.U.S.A. BASSIN TRACKER Cup Tournament
All teams that weighed-in a fish at a Regional but did not qualify for the Nitro Classic will be eligible to fish the TRACKER Cup Tournament. The TRACKER Cup Tournament will be held to the first 250 entries received. If your team has qualified for the Nitro Classic your team is not eligible to fish in the TRACKER Cup. Entry form for the TRACKER CUP may only be obtained on line. Go to www.usabassin.com for more information on the TRACKER Cup Tournament.
4.Regional Points Champions:
The highest finishing Divisional Champion at each Regional Tournament will be declared our Regional Points Champions and will receive a Nitro Classic entry. The highest finishing Regional Points Champion at the Nitro Classic Tournament will be crowned our National Points Champions and receive $5000.00 in cash.
5.Substitutes:
You can only fish a USA BASSIN Regional or the Classic tournament with your declared partner. If your declared partner cannot fish a USA BASSIN Regional or the Classic tournament you may fish it solo. No Substitutes permitted at the Regional or Classic tournament.
6.Limits:
This is a five (5)‑fish‑limit (Per Team or when fishing alone) tournament. Exceptions: State laws prevail when fishing on any body of water (size and limit). Anyone bringing in more than five fish will have their sack culled to the five fish limit staring with big fish first. Teams may carry more than 5 fish but all culling must be done on the water ‑‑ not on the bank
7.Ties:
Ties for big bass will split big bass pot. Ties for Regional Champions, Regional Points Champions and all place finishes will be broken by big bass.
8.No Live Bait:
Only artificial lures can be used in all tournaments. The use of pork rine is permitted.
9.No Trolling:
Trolling with the use of a combustible engine as a method of fishing is prohibited
10. Boat and Motor:
Boats must have required Coast Guard safety equipment and must have a motor within rating limits.
11. Livewell Inspection:
Boat must have a livewell, either built into the boat or portable. Livewells must have some type of pump or circulator to keep fish alive. All livewells will be checked on the ramp prior to launching the boat.
12. More than 5 Fish:
If you bring in more than the limit of five fish to the weigh-in, the excess fish will be culled from your weigh-in starting with the largest fish and working down
13. Short Fish Penalties:
All fish brought to weigh-in must be of legal size determined by state law for that body of water fished. Short fish will be culled from your sack and your largest fish will be culled from the remaining fish. The Official Measuring Board of U.S.A. Bassin is the Gator Grip Professional Series Boards. A Gator Grip Professional Series Board will be available at weigh-in as a courtesy board.
14. Dead fish Penalty:
For each dead fish a ½ pound penalty will be deducted from your total weight. A dead fish will not be weighed-in as big fish. Fish that appears altered or mangled shall be the tournament director’s decision to weigh or not to weigh the fish.
15. Late to weigh-in:
There will be a deduction of 1 lb. per minute of your total weight for every minute late to weigh-in. After 15 minutes past weigh-in teams are disqualified.
16. Weigh-in Procedures:
All contestants will be instructed at the pre-tournament meeting on weigh-in procedures.
17. Life Preserver:
During all U.S.A. BASSIN Tournaments, contestants not wearing their life jackets zipped and secured when the combustion engine is running and in gear will have that day’s weight disqualified from the tournament.
18. Off-Limits:
The tournament director will announce the off-limits areas at each pre-tournament meeting. Any team fishing in the off-limits areas will be disqualified from the tournament. Teams may not fish closer than 50 yards to another competitor who is anchored with the trolling motor up unless given permission. If permission is given to one, then all may fish same water. Having a non-contestant sit on a hole for you shall be cause for disqualification.
19. Pre-Fishing:
All USA BASSIN Regional Tournaments will not be closed to pre-fishing.
20. Sportsmanship:
All contestants are required to follow high standards of sportsmanship, courtesy and conservation. Drunkenness shall be cause for immediate disqualification. No alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs shall be allowed in the boats during the tournament hours extending through the close of the weigh-in.
21. Leaving Your Boat:
Competitors shall remain with the partners in the boat at all times during the tournament. Except in the event of sickness or brief excursions for “nature calling”, a severe storm or other such hazards. If for any reason a team decides to leave the tournament waters early, competitors must try to contact the director, prior to leaving the tournament. If you have boat trouble, one member must remain with the disabled boat. The other team member may board another competitor’s boat with that day’s catch and bring fish to weigh-in. Please contact the tournament director prior to doing so.
22. Cheating:
Anyone caught cheating in any tournament event will be immediately barred from fishing in any U.S.A. BASSIN event. We reserve the right to have a random truth verification test performed at any time. You may not use a cell phone to gain an advantage over the rest of the competitors.
23. Protest:
All protest must be submitted in writing to the divisional director before the close of weigh-in. Verbal protest will not be accepted.
24. State Rules:
All state rules and regulations must be followed. The Regional Tournament Director shall determine the penalty for breaking a State rule or regulations.
25. Insurance:
All members will carry liability insurance on any boat they might use during any of U.S.A. BASSIN Tournaments. Failure to do so or reporting false information will result in disqualification. Participants must have the company name and either policy number or the name of the agent binding the coverage on the membership form.
26. Refusal of Membership:
We reserve the right to refuse membership or entry into any of U.S.A. BASSIN Tournament events.
